Track Biography:
Point-to-Point racing has a long and rich history at the scenic location of Fairwood Park, Tinahely, since 1989. Fairwood Park also plays host to the Tinahely Agricultural Show each summer which is one of Ireland's longest running agricultural show.
Jamie Codd, who is the second winning-most point-to-point rider in the history of the sport became the first modern day rider to ride all six winners on the one card at Tinahely in October 2011.
Previous track winners to have won at Tinahely include former Grade One winner Fundamentalist and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own.
Tinahely is situated in the heart of the Wicklow countryside, the garden of Ireland. Located just an hour and half from the bustle of Dublin city, Tinahely is a pretty village in south west Wicklow that offers a variety of walking opportunities and a gateway to the beautiful Irish landscape.

How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin – Take the M50 southbound and turn onto the M11. At Junction 16, take the R772 to Rathnew. Continue on the R752/753 where the track will be sign posted.
From Waterford – Take the N9 until junction 5 where you need to take the N80 exit for Carlow/Rosslare.
By Air
Tinahely point-to-point is located an hour and forty minutes from Dublin airport.

Our car parking area is situated beside to the track which offers race goers the chance to get close to the action without having to leave their car. This also provides an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic while you enjoy the racing.
Disabled toilet facilities are also provided at the track.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies which means you don’t have to venture too far from the action to purchase some snacks.
You can choose from an array of hot food options such as burgers and chips to bacon and sausage rolls as well as confectionaries for children of which all are reasonably priced.

Race goers can purchase teas and coffees and soft drinks from our outside catering outlet.
No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to stay warm and dry for your days racing and to prepare yourself for all types of Irish weather.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments. We also have a range of catering options on course if you don't fancy packing a picnic for the day.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop at the ATM in Tinahely village on your way to the races.

Tinahely point-to-point is the perfect day out for the family in the heart of the Irish countryside. An added bonus for parents is that all children U16 have free admission.
Our point-to-point is located under an hour from the picturesque Glendalough and Glenmacnass Waterfall North of Laragh on the Sally Gap Road.

TENDOO was within a couple of lengths of the exciting Grangeclare Park when falling at the penultimate fence in Curraghmore on his debut back in April, and that was the same race that Minella Jackpot went on to finish second in. Of the others in this with previous experience, L?Amalric has failed to complete in three starts, but has shown encouraging signs, whilst his stablemate, Barbar Esko, was not beaten too far at Umma House in October.

Four of the last five runners from the Aidan Fitzgerald stable have finished either first or second, and GIORGIA ROSE could continue that purple patch in this. She switched stables through the summer, and made a pleasing stable debut at Peppards Castle. Walk The Hall was unlucky not to finish in two of her three starts last season, but did finish second at Durrow in between her two non-completions, whilst Leading Rose and Star Cave have both been in good form of late, and are others for the shortlist.

Gordon Elliott has a good record in open races at this venue, and CONFLATED will bid to add to that. Twice a winner at the highest level, including in the 2022 Irish Gold Cup, his owners, Gigginstown House Stud, have also won two of the last three editions of this race courtesy of Samcro. Journey With Me is another big-name addition to the sphere who could feature here. He has a similar rating to Conflated, and was a Grade 2 winner last year. His new stablemate, Winged Leader, won around here last season, whilst the locally-trained Galon De Vauzelle made a promising open debut at Peppards Castle.

It is hard to look beyond KAMILLE AU KANADA after her emphatic winning debut at Stowlin last May. She triumphed by 14 lengths on that occasion, in a race which has already produced two subsequent maiden winners, and so, she sets a high benchmark for this. Hero In The Sky was only denied by a neck in this race 12 months ago and had a promising return to the sphere at Lisronagh a fortnight ago, whilst Miss Chipley slipped the field to win her maiden at Loughrea last month.
