Track Biography:

Aghabullogue has been in operation since 1988.  The course is situated just outside Aghabullogue village.  Many people park in the village and walk down to the course.

The point-to-point is run over John Murphy’s land who is also our chairman and has been from day one. The course itself is a real test of stamina and it is a great viewing track for spectators.

Over the years many top racehorses have won at Aghabullogue including Cheltenham Foxhunters winner Whyso Mayo who has won three times here at Aghabullogue, Lovely Citizen who also won the Cheltenham Foxhunters and Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Call who was also trained on the land.

NT FIELD MINNESOTA and Alos Vision set a strong benchmark for this with the former preferred to bounce back to her promising Loughanmore debut. Bella Noche ran well for a long way before weakening in the latter stages at Boulta last time. That was her first completed run and is sure to have brought her forward, whilst Mamaker and Lyrid are others who cannot be discounted.

Unusually for a five-year-old maiden at this time of the year, none of the eight potential runners in this have a completed run in the sphere to their name. Ex-flat performer Real Dude has not in well over a year, so the selection goes to the newcomer IDEAL DE ROMAY. He was a E58,000 store purchase and is well related.

MONALEE is a former Grade 1 winner that finished second at consecutive Cheltenham festivals and although it has been almost four years since his last success, he ran off a mark of 171 when last seeing competitive action. La Feline is the in-form race fit rival as she comes here having won each of her three outings in the autumn and also beat geldings to win this race 12 months ago. Mount Pelier and Rockys Howya could be next best.

MY REPRIEVE only went down by a length at Ballindenisk last month and her connections could have a nice opportunity here to go one place better. Sarah Jane has not been able to recapture her spring form in two outings this season and has over 20 lengths to find with the selection from their latest run so it could be the likes of Mamaker, Lyrid and Cooleenymore who provide the biggest dangers to the selection.

FLASH CONROY finished just a length behind the recent maiden hurdle winner Well Dick on his debut at Tallow last year, and whilst he not quite backing that up in the manner expected when brought down in the closing stages at Boulta on his return, he should be too good for his rivals here. Big In Milan outran his odds at Ballindenisk last weekend and is sure to be in the shake up once again alongside the likes of Bloomhill, Shot Tower and Durty Harry.
