Track Biography:

The Hunt dates back to the early 20th century and has been running point-to-point meetings since the mid-1950s. This is our third track to run Askeaton point-to-point on. The first being where the County Limericks have run for the past few years. Adrian Maguire rode his 1st winner there for Michael Hourigan. This was a track PP Hogan had many great days on with the likes of the great Underway, Any Crack, Shrewd Operator and many more.

Then we moved to Toomdeely where the late John Thomas McNamara rode his first winner, for his uncle Andrew, on our first day there in 1996. There were plenty of good horses who won on this track including the likes of Strong Flow, Noble Thyne one of only a few horses to beat Istabraq and more recently Rogue Angel won a four-year-old maiden and went on to win the Irish Grand National in 2016.

We moved to our current track at Moig South in 2018,  it is a left handed track and is located on the verge of Askeaton village.

SCANDISK PARK cost connections E200,000 at the store sales and ran respectably on his debut at Rathcannon. Although a beaten favourite, he bumped into a very smart looking winner and can be expected to have improved since. Lazer Wolf looked to enjoy good ground at Tralee on his debut when an encouraging third and he brings the other bit of previous placed form into this.

FLASH CONROY is the name that stands out on paper after he had made an eye-catching debut at Tallow back in February when only losing out in the dying strides of a big-field maiden. The horse that finished 20 lengths behind him on that occasion has since won on his hurdling debut to advertise the form, and with the stable having sent out a winner on each of the last three weekends, he looks the one to beat. Ballylinch has yet to fully get his jumping in order, but if that was to come together here he could be the big danger, with Jessmae bringing a similar number of previous placed efforts into this.

KAYF HOPE bypassed an engagement last week, but she should come here fresher having finished second for the second time this term at Necarne two weeks ago. The front pair in that race had pulled a long way clear of their rivals and this does look to be a nice opportunity for her to deservedly get her head in front. Tinkerbay is the obvious danger having finished second at Dromahane recently, with Del Amitir possibly next best.

DICOMBOBULATED is a rare runner in an older maiden to carry the colours of well-known track owner Jared Sullivan and he is a particularly eye-catching newcomer. Grange Island has been off the track for some time, but he was third in a Clonmel bumper to Dysart Dynamo last year, whilst Gouazec and Love The West are horses with more conventional point-to-point form.
