Track Biography:

Formed in 1825, The Iveagh Foxhounds hunt is a famous hunt that has its place in Baily’s chronology of master ship. The Iveagh hunt hosts two point-to-points during the season, an Autmun fixture and a Spring fixture.

There has been many notable performances over the years at the Iveagh hunt santioned race meeting, Grade One winner Roi Du Mee made his only point-to-point appearance at the fixture when he won in October 2016.

Our point-to-point is nestled in the beautiful Northern Ireland countryside and is a perfect day out for all the family.

Donnchadh Doyle monopolised the two four-year-old maidens at Portrush last Saturday and having enjoyed notable success within that division in the region throughout the autumn, he will be looking to continue his good fortunes here with FIRAK. The half-brother to Virak finished a fine second in Ballyarthur on debut and will encounter much easier conditions here. Stable companion Famous Clermont finished fourth at Ballycahane, whilst the Gigginstown House Stud-owned Battle Of Actum finished a fine second in a big-field maiden at Turtulla on debut and can be expected to step up.

CLONDAW DANCER made much of the running on his debut at Dromahane over the Christmas period when finishing fourth in the maiden won by Banner Rebel. That sees him bring the strongest piece of form into this. Poncherello, The Mulcair, Big Leg Up and Writininthesand would look to be the likely dangers of those with a previous run under their belt having all run respectively in recent times.

MEGANS MARVEL made her debut in challenging conditions at Ballycahane last month when finishing a respectable third and she could be the one that steps up to take this for the Paul Nolan team. Rockfield Fame made much of the running when also filling the third place spot on her latest showing, that coming at Liscarroll, whilst Doyen Express could make her seasonal re-appearance having finished fourth as a four-year-old at the end of last season.

IT CAME TO PASS got the better of the potentially re-opposing Lac Fontana when they met at Lismore last month, and he will look to confirm that form here. Arctic Skipper was beaten at a short price in Tallow but is a two-time winner, whilst the Alan Fleming pairing of Gwencily Berbas and Timewaitsfornoone have both proven themselves to be very capable in this division.

PYRIOS has already had a couple of chances this season, and despite having been a beaten favourite on two occasions this term, this is an ideal opportunity on paper for him to bounce back to the form he had previously produced on the track when with Philip Hobbs. Duty Calls would be a danger on the career best he produced at Oldtown on his penultimate outing, whilst Getaway Home has a wealth of placed form but needs to bounce back from pulling up at Ballyragget last month.

WINGED LEADER has already proven himself against some of the best open horses around at present this season with fine efforts in defeat at Kirksitown, Armagh and just last Saturday at Portrush. The drop back in company could see him add to his tally, although the two five-year-old maiden winners Casey Jem and Keep Wondering will give him a good test and have to be feared. Alkaa Lion ran well at Ballyragget, whilst is back from a mid-season break having won his maiden at Borris House in the autumn.
